I shoot editorial, corporate, and advertorial images for print and online media. Based in Baltimore, my work regularly appears in clinical and marketing publications and on websites in the medical and biotech fields and healthcare professions... and, yes, there was the time a few years back when LeMonde, the French daily newspaper edited in Paris, called me out of the blue and licensed an image of mine which the newspaper's photo editor found on this website and published with a photo credit a few days later to illustrate a feature article.  In French, of course.  Sweet.

Before becoming a photographer, I practiced law in Baltimore (civil and sometimes uncivil litigation). After 20 years of that, I'd had my fill of the law and took seriously my lifelong interest in photography.  I studied hard and reinvented myself as a commercial photographer. Putting the courtroom behind me and heading into hospital operating rooms (sometimes in scrubs while wrangling a camera or two, a collection of lenses and lighting gear) opened up exciting new worlds to explore. I found my niche in medical photography and enjoy shooting real-time medical procedures and on-location environmental portraits of men and women whose accomplishments are featured in magazine articles in print and online.
